What You Don't See Before a 20-Second Reel

THE SHORT VERSION
A 20-second Reel can take surprisingly long to make.
There's the idea, the setup, the filming, the retakes, the editing and the part where I stare at the same three clips wondering why none of them feel right.
The final video might look effortless.
It rarely starts that way.

**EFFORTLESS CONTENT
IS USUALLYN'T EFFORTLESS TO MAKE.**
The goal isn't to make the process look easy.
It's to make the final story feel easy to watch.
WHAT I'M DOING DIFFERENTLY NOW
I leave more room for experimentation.
01 — FILM MORE THAN I NEED
The unexpected clip is sometimes the best one.
02 — DON'T OVER-SCRIPT EVERYTHING
A little imperfection makes things feel human.
03 — WATCH BEFORE I EDIT
Sometimes the story changes once I see the footage.
And yes, I still do seventeen takes.
Some habits aren't going anywhere.
A LITTLE REMINDER
If the final video feels effortless, that doesn't mean creating it was.
ANYWAY...
I'll probably still move the coffee table before the next shoot.
